Strategy Assessment / 2026

Assessing a Logistics Intelligence Platform.

A strategic read of a logistics platform showing where the company’s advantage lives, what could weaken it, and how visibility becomes decision value.

What the project was about

The assessment studied a logistics SaaS platform moving from shipment visibility toward decision intelligence. The question was whether the current strategy was coherent, defensible, and clearly connected to customer value.

The strategic tension

The strongest moat is data connectivity at scale: integrations, carrier and telematics networks, multimodal coverage, historical shipment data, and hard-to-reach data sources. The risk is that buyers still perceive visibility as tracking software while competitors and substitutes compress differentiation.

What was done

  • Read the company through strategy cascade, value chain, VRIO, core competencies, Porter five forces, and internal configuration.
  • Mapped where the platform creates advantage and where competitive pressure is strongest.
  • Clarified the strategic shift from visibility to trusted supply-chain decision intelligence.

What it proves

The strategy only works if visibility becomes trusted decision intelligence. More data is not the advantage by itself; the advantage is helping customers make better decisions when shipping lanes, tariffs, costs, and uncertainty change.
