From Biases to a Card Game.

A human factors and game-building project that turned worldview maps into Loops, a playable system for exploring bias, habits, and sensemaking through collective storytelling.

What the project was about

The work began with individual worldview maps. The team looked for common patterns across personal experiences, then used those patterns to build a shared system around bias, habits, and sensemaking.

The design material

Commonalities and differences became the material of the project. Safety, inclusion, stereotypes, cultural conditioning, habits, and interpretation were not flattened into one story. They became parts of a system people could play with and discuss.

What was done

  • Mapped personal worldviews and identified recurring relationships between bias, habits, and sensemaking.
  • Used disagreement and democratic discussion as part of the design method.
  • Created Loops, a four-player card game with categories, rules, scoring, group interpretation, and physical cards.

What it proves

Loops is a meta-representation of the process that created it. Bias, habit, and sensemaking become cards; cards become stories; stories become negotiated meaning through group discussion.
